The Directed Research Project aims to understand the ZEV Mandates and their applicability to the Indian context. A market-based approach is adopted to understand its feasibility in the Indian context and its effect on the national EV ecosystem. Global cases are looked at to understand the mandate's design and working while establishing its success rates. The study also involves consultation with industry experts and a detailed analysis of India's existing freight sector. Through these studies and research, we arrive at targets possible for the Indian market and its effect in reducing emissions.
