Bridging last mile connectivity gap to improve women’s travel radius

Easy access to public transit options can broaden a women’s travel radius and thus access to jobs. For public transport users, getting to and from the public transport is the most crucial deciding factor for using public transport. For many women in urban areas in addition to availability of first and last mile mobility options, safety if a major concern. This includes safety on the way to and from public transportation stops and the in waiting areas, in addition to safety concerns within transit. For improving last mile connectivity options for women, following areas of research can be undertaken:
