Urban transport sector is going through a paradigm shift from fuel powered vehicles to electric mobility. The key drivers for electric vehicles are zero tailpipe emission, reduced dependency on crude oil and fast depleting cost of batteries. This project focuses on electrification of private vehicles focusing on the City of Chennai, looking into the financial assessment, impact on environment (Reduction in CO2) and impact on electricity grid. The output is given in the form of a road map to electrify private vehicles in a phase-wise manner.
