Gendered Space Persists

Sukhna Lake is a man-made recreational lake in Sector 1, accessible for leisure and exercise via one direct road to entrances 1 and 2. This isolates other entrances from the city and creates a division between the public space and the semi-private golf course. The entrances are at varied distances, reducing connectivity. The lower access road through Sukhna is inaccessible for women, but empty pockets near parking and entry have the potential to resolve this. The idea is to intervene at such junctions on the stretch that collectively act as access points for women.
