'Eco'-nomical Approach for Bhopal Development Plan

The Development Plan studio provided with an opportunity to explore the conceptual framework and methodology of making the plan for the city of Bhopal. The process included multiple iterations which helped to think beyond the conventional methods and approaches. The vision for Bhopal development plan evolved from its ecologically sensitive nature and existing agro-based economy. The aim was to promote a balanced development keeping ecology and economy in mind. Bhopal being a city of lakes has several streams that need to be conserved. The blue-green network has been strengthened using an analytical approach as part of the proposals.
