This market was the source of an economic boost for Chennai and led to the development of other markets around the old city area of Chennai -  Georgetown. The various strategies for Redevelopment were studied and inferred that Built form-based changes direct the redevelopment project leading to an enhanced public realm and the scope for reviving the Old City charm and Economic Contribution of the area.
