Revitalizing the Heritage Precinct of Mannadi

The Mannadi district, located in the historic neighborhood of Georgetown, Chennai has seen a decline in living conditions over the past few years, resulting in a decrease in residential use and an increase in the number of defunct structures. The intent is to transform this historically rich area into a desirable place to live in by providing basic amenities and revitalizing the neighborhood. The aim is to provide stop the deteriorating conditions by activating the area, providing adequate infrastructure and creating a place that is desirable for people to live in. The transformation will also help stop the drift of people away from the area. By treating the area with sensitivity and a project-based approach, the vision is to revitalize the public realm and upgrade infrastructure amenities to make the area more livable.
