India has more than hundreds of Zoos and Animal Parks/ Sanctuaries, attracting billions of visitors every year and contributing significant income sources for municipal corporations or government (forest department). The safety of captive animals and visitors is essential due, which requires a strict solid waste management structure monitored by CZA. As a developing nation with limited waste handling awareness, this comes at a cost. In a democratic and strong political influence region where officials aim to make maximum, the protocols of solid waste management might get compromised and still operate normally as in India, precaution is avoided until it gets compulsory to oblige after loss.
