PIRANA INTERSECTION

Roads are critical to the development of an economy. Efficient road infrastructure serves as the foundation for user commutes as well as the transportation of goods and services. Studio Urban Road Infrastructure Design and Analysis is concerned with a critical component of the road network, namely intersections. Intersections connect numerous routes and aid in traffic control, channeling, and navigation. This studio consists of selecting a specific intersection and conducting on-site surveys, surveys traffic volume flow study, speed and delay analysis, analyzing Level of Service, observing and rating pavement condition, projecting future intersection usage, user and surrounding composition and design signal timing, and using accident data and geometric features to understand the intersection's safety and service aspect.
