Retrofuturism is a phenomena that challenges conventional views of time and the future by fusing elements of nostalgia with futurism to produce endless creative possibilities. It has had an impact on a variety of industries, including art, design, architecture, interior design, merchandise, fashion, and furniture. Films were essential in bringing it to a wider audience. This study offers a thorough examination of retrofuturism, examining its genesis, growth, and impact on culture and society. It explores the manner in which the emergence of retrofuturism has influenced social, political, and cultural tendencies. The study then concentrates on two case studies, Her (2013) and 2001: A Space Odyssey, and examines the development of retrofuturism in cinema through five lenses of analysis: social and cultural trends, inspiration, visual examination of film sets, emotions conveyed through colour, and a list of retro futuristic components seen in films. This study offers a clearer knowledge of retrofuturism’s complex impact on numerous facets of society by carefully researching it.
