Managing Development in the Agriculture Zone within the Development Plan and beyond the Development Authority Boundary
India has been experiencing rapid urbanization in past 3-4 decades, the experiencing Urban Sprawl and Unauthorized Development in the Agriculture Zones within the Development Plan and beyond the Development Authority Boundary. Various Acts, Policies and Programme other than Urban Development Act actually facilitates such urban sprawl, also the absence of Institutional Mechanism in the peri urban areas contributes in development of such unregulated developments. A need arises for a strong policy, structure and institutional mechanism to regulate and facilitate structured development in such areas. A thorough investigation can be done through a case study of Ahmedabad.
