Gap assessment analysis (blue collared and white collared logistics workforce) of the skillset required to advance the green logistics sector in India
Logistics industry in India currently employs 22 million people, as per Economic Survey Report 2021-2022. Skill and Human Resource Development initiatives by the government and industry leaders complement smooth operations and management by bridging the skill gap in the industry. It employed about 21 million people in 2016, with 54% employed in passenger roadways segment, 35% in road freight, and the remaining in passenger railways, freight forwarding, warehousing, packaging and other services. In 2020, the logistics sector was among the five topmost employment generating sectors in the post-Covid economy in India and is expected to provide a livelihood for more than 30 million people by end of 2022
