Recent years have shown a significant rise in flood incidents globally, with an impact on habitation and different sectors of the economy. This, in turn, necessitates the use of different flood mitigation strategies, wherein flood vulnerability assessment plays a significant role. To understand flood vulnerability, modelling flooding and its impact in each scenario plays an imperative role to understanding vulnerability. Kerala is a southern state in India that has seen devastating floods in the recent years. The district of Pathanamthitta (city in Kerala), which lies on the banks of river Pamba faces heavy inundation. Hence, a detailed study can be developed to study localized flooding scenarios and visualize the impact of flooding on public infrastructure, critical facilities, and vulnerable populations to improve preparedness for future flooding events.
