Understanding Symbiotic Relations at the Edges of Sita Mata River.
All life forms begin ,thrive and culminate with water. At the crux of a
forest ecology, lies a source of water paving way for growth. Water is a factor that
changes the tapestry of the forest at its edge and creeps into the forest though different
ecological factors at a faster pace than any other. These tapestries or mosaics of forest
landscapes become even more alive and all-consuming along river edges . One can
experience a sudden shift in the density of the encompassing nature. Symbiotic
relationships among ecological participants, in and around the presence of a freshwater
source develops a sphere of accelerated activities through the forest. These water
edges are constantly undergoing change due to the changing levels of water across
different seasons. One naturally becomes curious about the different layers of life under ,
above and on the surface of the water ; the relationships between them and their effect
on the adjacent edges of water bodies .The lens aims to delve into these phenomena
and the web of inter-relations around water and the synergies they create in Sita Mata
Wildlife Sanctuary. These synergies are transmitted through the forest and affects the
synergy of the forest as a whole.
The abundance of available nutrients along these edges due to deposition
creates patches of dominant species around these edges. Hence, the varying
responses of fauna and flora near these water sources under different parameters at
different edges in the Forest .The study primarily focuses on mapping the vegetation in
and around water - Hydrophytes of Sita Mata and their growth patterns according to
certain parameters .The lens concludes with synergies like contribution of hydrophytes to the channel
complexity and river system health.
