CR4000

Ephemeral to Eternal

The project celebrates the dynamic history of Chhatar Manzil and Farhat Baksh Kothi, key architectural landmarks of Lucknow's transformation during the Oudh capital shift. Through archival research, site visits, and critical drawings, the study examines spatial, structural, and aesthetic changes that reflect the buildings’ evolution. Conservation is approached as a dialogue between time and renewal, embracing imperfections as markers of resilience and memory. By honoring materiality and the layers of history, the project seeks to weave past and present into a coherent narrative, fostering a sustainable relationship between people and place for future generations.
