Through the Catapults : A Path of Discovery

An archaeological museum, featuring permanent galleries, temporary exhibit spaces, a café, and an amphitheatre, is being constructed near Atak Gate in Champaner. The museum’s central theme highlights the significance of catapults in warfare and defence. By showcasing catapults as exhibits, the museum aims to raise public awareness of their historical importance. The design concept incorporates two key strategies : Underground Construction: To maintain a lower profile than the imposing catapults.Non-Parallel Walls: When viewed from above, the structure appears as a series of non-parallel walls extending in various directions. This strategic positioning offers visitors a unique, immersive experience. As they navigate the space, they can walk between the towering catapults, gaining a first hand sense of their scale.
