Through The Thick Walls Of History

This archaeological museum is located behind the Atak gate in Champaner, Gujarat. It aims to enhance the site by filling the space behind the gate. The museum's layout includes three permanent galleries, one temporary gallery, an amphitheatre, and a café.Its front wall and some inner walls replicate the thickness of the existing fort wall, creating a connection to the historic site. The design incorporates elements of ancient architecture, such as a centrally organized courtyard, and multiple open and semi-open spaces. The thick walls are utilized creatively to minimize material wastage while offering visitors a breathtaking experience and stunning views. The museum invites visitors to explore history within its thick walls, providing a journey through time within a thoughtfully designed space.
