FOOTPRINTS OF TIME

“The human spirit needs places where Nature has not been rearranged by the hand of man” The Sita Mata Wildlife Sanctuary is located at the intersection of three major geological features: the Vindhyas, Aravalli, and Malwa Plateau. These landscapes are a culmination of years of activity caused by natural processes; termed as agents of change. They act over various scales, from rapid minutes to gradual transformations over millions of years. This lens attempts to map these agents of change, how each agent physically transforms the rock, and the timeline across which it does so. Each of these agents— water, wind, thermal stress, flora and fauna, work in tandem, constantly reshaping the geological landscape of Sita Mata Wildlife Sanctuary. This lens focuses on the confluence of the Aravallis and the Vindhyas, due to the difference in their formations and how they come together at the end of the trail, toward the Sita Mata temple.
