RUBIKS

The foundation studio aimed to establish a disciplinary drive for the program, focusing on the design and manufacturing process. The program emphasized the expressive result of combining structural, constructional, material, and geometrical intelligence. Students used methodical methods to study, derivation, and evaluation of form, laying the groundwork for tectonics. Four important factors were considered: articulation of structural stresses, detail expression, program expression, and expressive aspect of detail. The studio introduced students to digital and analog technologies and developed their skills in creating building goods. Exercises included constructing a fenestration unit, understanding structural forces, and integrating learned abilities with specific design issues. The studio also evaluated skills using three new Highrise typologies, considering sustainability, land scarcity, and resource scarcity.,
