The Threshold Between Imagined Worlds

What is the edge, where one realm ends and the other begins? Situated at the threshold of the everyday humdrum of the city, and the sacred silence of the Jami Masjid of Bijapur, the built is the edge which brings these two contrasting realms together. Walking through the building, takes one on a journey from the present to the past, from the worldly to the mythical, yet constantly reminded of the presence of the monument. The building above is an extension of the vibrant city life, a prelude to what is there to come, extending itself to how the user takes over, each experience of walking in from the city is unique, yet what is one is the experience of exiting into one where all voices are silenced.
