Vertical Resonance

The Kailash Temple inspires reimagining: a memorial to honor the sacred void left by its departure. This design challenge was to articulate an architectural stance on “Contextualism.” which is: Reciprocity, Indifference, and Conflict. My design embraces Conflict as its central idea, using verticality as a defining architectural gesture. This approach intentionally disrupts the historical narrative of dominance and harmony, creating a dynamic tension that amplifies the sacred absence of the temple. It is a vertical dialogue that reframes the monument’s legacy through spatial and contextual tension.
