FROM ROOMS TO REALMS

Resolving the critiques after a thorough analysis of Loos’s work gives us an intervention that aims to redesign the residence for a family of four and their staff. It attempts to create a meaningful addition and change that influences the lifestyle of the current residents in a positive manner. The intervention made of  glass blocks and glass panes creates and adds to each of the realms by providing direct connection between spaces. It helps transform and evolve Loos’s plan from rooms to realms. By redefining ‘ornament’ and combining it with movement the Raumplan has evolved into Realm Plan, suggesting and incorporating the ideals of ‘how to live’ through architecture and architectural promenade.
