AR3042

Coastal Alchemy

The intervention aims to revive Goa’s Khazan landscape by establishing an integrated farming ecosystem focused on bio-fertilizer production and Korgut rice processing, addressing salinity control to restore ecological balance. Through a cycle of production, fish from ponds are processed into bio-fertilizer, which enriches paddy fields cultivating Korgut rice. This symbiotic system is designed to manage salinity and promote ecological restoration. The two structures, positioned on the bund between the paddy field and fish pond, are linked by a central thoroughfare. Their roofs respond to the surrounding landscape, harmonizing with the distinct contexts of water and land.
