Bar-do Bliss Retreat

(Bar-do: Tibetan for the "in-between state," symbolizing transition)
The project aims to recreate the feeling of in-betweenness felt throughout the journey in Mirik from Okaity Site to Muhan Daha waterfall. The journey started from the Okaity Site, then went on to a bridge that connected the settlements to the Pine tree forest and then finally to the Muhan Daha waterfall. These four scenarios evoked a sense of in-betweenness through multiple ways where the surroundings were stationary and I was experiencing them by moving in and around them. This project is more than just a place to stay; it’s a sanctuary where the untamed spirit of Mirik’s wilderness is felt in every corner, offering guests a deep connection to nature within the comfort of modern luxury.
