ClayPress

ClayPress is a device/ tool that helps reclaim clay. Used clay has many lumps, uneven drying, and wet parts, making it difficult to use again. Traditionally, wedging makes the clay homogeneous and free from air pockets, but wedging large amounts of clay can be tiring and strain the body, especially the back, neck and wrists. The ClayPress works by extruding the clay in a screw press to make thin rectangular sections which are then compressed In the screw press again. This process breaks down bigger lumps in clay, removes bubbles, and gives it a form ideal for wheel-throwing.
