Dimen Fold

This project explores the transformative potential of origami as a kinetic design methodology, emphasizing the deconstruction of a cubic form through the introduction of diagonal creasing patterns. The primary objective is to develop a dynamic structure capable of seamlessly transitioning between 2D and 3D configurations, offering multiple stable states. This adaptability not only enhances its kineticism but also positions it as an innovative approach to spatial transformation in design. Building upon this dynamic form, the project incorporates an intelligent lighting system designed to complement its kinetic properties. The system focuses on varying light intensity, orientation, and interaction with the form’s geometry to create a visually engaging experience. When inactive, the lighting merges with the background, creating an "endless" effect, blending the structure into its surroundings and emphasizing the interplay between light and shadow.
