Waste Wonderland - 2050

Living with the Landfill-2050 presents a satirical future where landfills will be transformed into Waste Wonderlands with Rehab Centers for Eco-Criminals, shabby chic shopping centers for the citizens and various attractions of poverty tourism. Through a series of multi-media artefacts, the project hopes to address aspects of eco-shame highlighting our current collective anxiety and apathy towards overconsumption, waste production and rising climate crisis. The project uses sarcasm, humour and social media vocabulary to provoke reactions on the systemic flaws, actions without consequences and environmental apathy that drives our conduct as a society today and change our behaviour towards the environment by levying personal consequences instituted by an authoritarian regime.
