Parallels in real life explores the universal struggle between self-discovery and societal expectations through the recreation of iconic stills from female led films. Drawing from personal experiences, the project highlights how cultural pressures ,particularly on women , distort individuality and enforce conformity to ideals of beauty ,behavior, and success. By embodying fictional characters and situating their struggles in the relatable context of a hostel, the work bridges cinema and lived experiences, transforming distant narratives into visual real life commentaries on identity conflicts. The recreated scenes critique societal norms while celebrating the courage required to embrace one’s true self. This process not only allowed for technical growth in photography and composition but also deepened the understanding of visual storytelling as a medium to reflect and communicate internal struggles. Through this project, art becomes both a mirror and a bridge, offering solace and shared understanding while fostering conversations on the importance of self acceptance and autonomy.Ultimately, it serves as a testament to the resilience found in vulnerability and the power of creativity to navigate and express the intricate layers of identity.
