Ex02: Public / Private goods: Use and Provision

Ex02: Public / Private goods: Use and Provision

What
This exercise focuses on analysing urban environments through the lens of microeconomic concepts, specifically focusing on public and private goods. It focuses on identifying and analysing the extent of public and private goods within a designated precinct area and assessing the provision of these goods/services. The implications or justifications for government or private interventions related to public/private goods will also be understood.

Why
Understanding the distinction between public and private goods/services and spaces is crucial to efficiently allocating resources within urban settings and identifying issues of access and equity.

How
This will be achieved by identifying different types of public and private goods and services available in the precinct and the overlaps or boundaries between public and private spaces/goods. These spaces will be located on the map to understand their spread across an urban area. This is followed by mapping goods and services and classifying them into club or common.
