The selected site is situated near two major landmarks: the Jodhpur Junction railway station and the Ranchoddas Temple. A prominent feature of the site is a series of British-era lodges, some of which remain functional while others have been abandoned. Additionally, the site includes a Sarai that caters to low-income tourists. These hospitality services lie on a perpendicular axis with the railway station, Sarai and temple aligned along a route that experiences medium to high traffic flow depending on rush hours. Challenges such as Parking, movement and utilization of spaces need to be addressed. Additionally, there is a need to bring back the lost historical character of the site and increase its prominence as a secondary tourism corridor due to the presence of such important structures on it. Focusing on the site’s potential as a secondary tourism corridor would not only increase its significance but also improve overall urban functionality of the area.
