Pedestrian Neighbourhoods

the project explores generative techniques of urban place placemaking with the aim of enhancing walkability in the chosen neighbourhood. This project is a by product of rule- based design approach where the simplest of design decisions are backed by a logic that has been looked at as a rule. The generation of this design follows the rule of survival of fittest where the iterations generated from these rules are tested and evaluated to know which iteration is the best suited with the context that has been taken into consideration and the design ambition that has been set. The design is an attempt at creating walkable neighbourhoods by creating a heirarchy of streets and designing certain kinds of typology that help establish as well as enhance this concept of pedestrian neighbourhoods
