WASTE SYNC: SWM Data Management System for Rajkot

The Waste SYNC system is a comprehensive solution aimed at optimizing Rajkot’s solid waste management (SWM) through efficient data collection, reporting, and decision-making. Implemented in three sequential phases—SYNC 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0—the system focuses on continuous improvement, reliability, and centralized management. Its ultimate goal is to create a unified data management system integrated with real-time data recording, culminating in a command-and-control center for effective SWM. This phased approach allows for gradual validation of concepts on the ground, enabling smooth implementation while addressing inefficiencies across the SWM value chain. Waste SYNC promotes transparency and accountability through reliable monitoring tools and evidence-based planning. By optimizing resource allocation and streamlining operations, it minimizes waste, improves efficiency, and reduces costs, benefitting both municipal authorities and residents. Additionally, the system ensures timely and accurate reporting for national programs like the Swachh Bharat Mission and Swachh Survekshan rankings, enhancing compliance and bolstering Rajkot’s urban governance and cleanliness metrics. Waste SYNC represents a sustainable, data-driven approach to transforming urban waste management.
