Learning Curve, Child Centered Urbanscapes

CFP and Live Learn Play have been a learning curve for me in terms of data collection and representation, software skills, hand drafting, model making and understanding the importance of not just the outcome but the process of reaching a design.
Learning programs like AutoCAD, Sketchup, Rino, Photoshop, and Illustrator has been enjoyable and has helped me expand my skills. Creating hand models using surface development has also shown to be a successful way to convey data and designs. These skills have been a great addition to my skill set and motivate me to keep going further in my career.

Understanding and analyzing the site is the first most basic step in any design process so we created a Imageability map to capture the dynamics of our site by combining all our observations on the studio level. We then proceeded to analyses the site through the map on an individual level.

The next step to making accurate and practical designs were case studies and documentation of the site.

The design process started from making a mind map and visualizing our ideas on paper to drafting on AutoCAD with accurate measurements. Then going even further to SketchUp and visualizing the design to get a better idea of space and dynamics. Through this and discussions I rectified the problem of closed off public space in my final design.

Creating working models and using them for the design process was a valuable addition. Rendering on Photoshop and Illustrator has also added to my software skillset.

The Child Friendly Co-curricular Public Space, the aim was to create open areas are designed to foster curiosity and interaction, making every moment an opportunity for discovery and creativity. A safe and welcoming space where kids can be themselves and have the utilities they want. For previous works and more about this project click on the external drive link to my portfolio.
