This project’s vision for the Tapi River Project is to transform the river into a vibrant, clean, and welcoming space for everyone. A key focus of this project is addressing the issue of polluted water flowing into the river through the sewer sheds at several places at the beginning of the river by proposing better grey infrastructure through nature-based solutions for the river outfalls. Integrating grey infrastructure with nature-based solutions would involve using natural processes like wetlands, bioswales, and permeable pathways to manage water. They aim to restore ecosystems while providing functional benefits like water purification, habitat creation, and enhanced aesthetic appeal of the river. Treating these sewers seeks to stop the flow of untreated waste at its source, ensuring that only clean water enters the Tapi.
