The Wandering Walkways

The Motera market redesign transforms a commercial area into a flexible, community-centered hub. Surrounded by residential neighbourhoods, it will provide residents with a welcoming space for relaxation, social interaction, and activities. During the day, wide walkways and open areas will create an inclusive environment for all ages.
A key feature is the addition of semi-private spaces along the walkways, framed by lush greenery that adds privacy and tranquillity. At its centre, a versatile deck will host community events or offer a peaceful spot to relax and connect with nature.
The project aims to balance serenity with social vibrancy, creating a community connection and calm space. With natural elements and adaptable features, the Motera market will serve as a quiet retreat by day and a lively market by night, enhancing neighbourhood bonds and quality of life.

The "Site Documentation" for Motera Sabzi Mandi offered a clear understanding of the site.

Before designing, "Site Analysis"helps understand the perspectives of its context users (local residents) and sellers (vendors).

Multiple design iterations during the "Design Process" of the final proposal improved the overall design.

The final "Proposed Design" allocated space for residents' activities and vendor clusters, fostering a sense of serenity and community.
