Play, Thrive & Adapt | Design for Children and Community

The project aims to bring new life to the pockets of Vanjaravas, Ahmedabad, by creating playful and climatically comfortable spaces where children and families can gather. Designed for children aged 1 to 18, each area offers an immersive, multi-sensory experience that lets kids explore through touch, taste, smell, and sight, helping them engage with their surroundings in fun and meaningful ways. The proposal tackle climate challenges while turning underutilized spots—often used for dumping garbage—into clean, safe environments by involving local voices. Beyond children, these spaces cater to women and the elderly as well, giving them a place to relax and interact. Each pocket is a small, lively, interactive space that encourages everyone—young and old—to connect, making Vanjaravas a more inclusive, resilient, and joyful neighborhood.
