The trees in Ahmedabad are residuals elements, escaping the fabric of the city. They also have a strong religious and cultural symbolic attatched to them. The Paving is an efficient, low cost and reusable way to cover the street, it is both modular and expendable. The actual state of the street is damaging both of them, the tree is covered by the pavement in the middle of the street and tries to escape it. The project is a research on a complementary relationship between these two elements. How could the tree protect the pavement, and vice et versa. Inspired by the relationship between temples and peepal trees, the project is a reinterpretation of the sidewalks by using specific points of acupuncureimprove the quality of the street.
