CHANDKHEDA - A CASE OF HOMOGENITY

For the ONGC employees, Chandkheda, a well-known residential area in northwest Ahmedabad, has expanded and changed over the previous eight decades. As a result, the area's transition from agricultural land to residential areas began with the establishment of the ONGC Colony in the 1970s. This was followed by the rise of the Gujarat Housing Board in the 1990s and the Jantanagar Colony in the 1980s. It is now mostly residential area with some mixed-use elements, as housing initiatives like PMAY and transit-oriented construction have further accelerated its urban growth in recent years.
