MOTERA: From farmland to suburban residential hub

Motera, located in northwest Ahmedabad, has evolved from agricultural land into a vibrant suburban residential area, linking Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar. Predominantly residential, it features a mix of built and open spaces, structured around local and sub-arterial roads that divide precincts. Initially driven by employment at ONGC and Torrent Power, first-generation residents sought affordable housing and settled in the area. The second generation prefers Motera for its affordable homes and ancestral ties. Migrants, especially from Rajasthan, are drawn by job opportunities, a strong community, and excellent transport links. With vacant land for future growth, Motera offers a well-connected and attractive residential choice.
