Thaltej, Ahmedabad

This project examines the urban transformation of Thaltej, Ahmedabad, from a rural area to a bustling urban precinct, driven by the TP Scheme and the Sarkhej-Gandhinagar Highway. It focuses on understanding the impacts of rapid growth on walkability, public spaces, socio-economic conditions, and housing affordability. Key challenges include poor pedestrian infrastructure, waterlogging, high land values, and limited access to public amenities. The project aims to propose strategies for enhancing livability, inclusivity, and sustainability, balancing infrastructure-led development with community-centric urban planning.
