THE BARRAGE CUM BRIDGE PROJECT

The Bridge-cum-Barrage project is a Rs. 928 Crores greenfield infrastructure initiative spearheaded by the Municipal Corporation to address critical water management and urban connectivity challenges. With a freshwater storage capacity of 19.17 Million Cubic Meters at a Full Reservoir Level of 5 meters, the project aims to mitigate salinity ingress, recharge groundwater, and ensure a reliable water supply for drinking purposes. Additionally, it proposes a new road corridor across the river to alleviate traffic congestion. The project is designed to support long-term socio-economic growth and integrates sustainability measures while contributing to regional resilience.
