Monsson Semester 2024 | Passive Comfort Lab

The Passive Comfort Lab aims to explore the core principles of heat transfer and building physics. The course begins with foundational concepts and progresses to practical experiments and exercises, culminating in a course project: Designing and Constructing an Enclosure of Hot and Cold Compartments separated by an insulation and optimize the Heat Transfer between them. Alongside this, the course provides a comprehensive understanding of thermal comfort evaluation, building simulations, and in-depth knowledge of climate analysis, shading strategies, natural ventilation, and other passive design measures. Selected projects from the studio have been showcased in the portfolio.
