Symbiotic Salvage: Breathing Life into Decay

Spatial Recall's intervention, detailed in "Infrastructure Love," draws from the conservation manifesto, honoring the past while fostering resilience for the future. Inspired by Carlo Scarpa's Garden, the project preserves the ruinous state, utilizing mnemonic devices to recreate memories within the structure. Repair logic emphasizes retaining and enhancing open voids, respecting spatial character. The innovative use of Rohtak domes, partially constructed for a ruin-like ambiance, showcases a blend of aesthetics and functionality. With ecological interventions like a plant-filled courtyard and careful consideration of material properties, the project creates an ecosystem within, ensuring long-term structural resilience and harmonizing human needs with environmental preservation.
