Sabarmati River acts as a divider between the city. As per history, everyone refers as there are two cities one is old and the second is new. According to the upcoming CBD project, both sides of Sabarmati River will act as a new Morden city, but only the land between Ellis Bridge and Nehru Bridge will be untouched, because of its heritage impo8ance. Hence I have selected that land as it will give a direct connection with the existing old city. As the city divided into two pads both the side of the riverbank exhibits different types of urban fabric. One is the original cohesive walled city with heritage from the 15th century to post-independence and the other is planned and developed with modern architecture. Both sides differ in terms of lifestyle, urban spaces, and road networks and built environment. There are only way to go to the other part of the city is through bridges and it's not functional in terms of pedestrian, sitting, viewing and experience the river at a central point. And these points will be taken in consideration in given proposal. Proposed green patch will connect both sides of the city (old and new city) at where it becomes meeting and celebration junction for people of both sides. The world health organization (WHO) urban air quality database and several international and Indian studies. have identified Ahmadabad as one of the most polluted cities in the world. Therefore the city needs number of green zone. Yes, there are many gardens and lakes in entire city which purify and make fresh air but it's not enough. Therefore proposal focuses on giving a green zone where people can have same temperature and breathing air throughout the day and year.
