Beyond the Void: A Cemetery for victims of the Pandemic

The project is centered around the idea of creating a cemetery for the victims of the current pandemic. The project situates itself on the island of Poveglia in Venice, which historically has been an island that has strong links to the pandemics of the past. The project proposes a use of the island by incorporating the older structure of the island with newer additions making an overall comprehensive project. The project takes inspiration from art work by Giorgio de Chirico and those of Aldo Rossi, to come up with a dialogue that communicates the essence of the pandemic.
