Restoration Toolbox -The case of Chettinad lime plaster

The restoration toolbox seeks to increase the scope of on-ground preservation of lime plaster, specifically Chettinad lime plaster. It was prevalent in the 19th century and has been easily replaced with industrial materials.  The loss of material and skill leads to no knowledge of it, which reflects on its high costs and eventual replacement with unsuitable materials in restoration projects. The project is a pilot study for achieving the final goal of generating a circular economy for this skill to sustain it socially. To view a five-minute elevator pitch of this thesis' research idea(s), please click on the link displayed.
