One vital feature of Ahmedabad pol is the sense of community, where the entire pol is seen as one. Apart from their personal rooms, family members are constantly interacting with each other. They celebrate festivals together. This Bed & Breakfast facility ‘SAMUDAAY’ aims to recreate this experience of a small community among several people staying by creating spaces to interact, promoting cohabitation. The rooms act as a retreat from the noise and hustle of the nearby market and streets outside, offering privacy. This way, like the pol houses, the facility offers three levels of engagement: public, semi-private, private.
