The program attempts not only to attract some prominent bird species of Thol, but also to take possible conservative steps in bringing back some bird species to the site like Oriental Darter, White-eyed Pochard, Oriental White Ibis and Dalmatian Pelican, which are recognised as “Threatened species” or “Vulnerable” of Thol. Besides this, the intent of the program is also enhance the habitat of the site, further creating space for certain other bird species with a habitat preference for wooded, fallow and agricultural areas. It further intends to enrich the existing bio-diversity of the region by re-introducing certain plant species native to the region, which would provide food hence attracting many animals, insects, organisms, amphibians, fishes and some species of migratory birds, without disturbing the serenity of the place; and develop the edge of the water body, which would create some roosting spaces for certain bird species. This will not only provide protection to water-edge soil erosion, but also increase the aesthetic value of the site, further supporting different species from microbes to mammals and amphibians.
