The site for the project is along the banks of the Vishwamitri river, adjacent to Sayaji Baug in
Vadodara. The design process attempted to create an engagement with the river; and
generates ideas for this seventeen-acre site based on the specific conditions of the Vishwamitri
and the larger system it is a part of.
The design intervention, though physically appreciable, is intended to be non-intrusive in its
nature.
The proposal describes a place to observe the unique ecological character of Vishwamitri that is seasonal & highly sinuous. The river meanders create unique spatial experiences & ecological niches, that would be highlighted by creating vantage points and by manipulating sightlines & accessibility to create complementing journeys across the site that lead up to these vantage points.
