OBJECTIVE – MOLDING THE TERRAIN AND LETTING THE FLOOD
WATER IN, ALSO CONTROLLING THE STORM WATER RUN-OFF
LOCALLY SO THAT IT CONVERTS TO PATCHES OF ‘FLOATING ISLANDS’
AND IN RETURN EXTENDING THE EXISTING WETLANDS.
DESIGN INTENT – CHANNELIZING THE STORM/FLOOD WATER TO AND
FROM THE RIVER RESPECTIVELY AND DECREASING THE RUN-OFF
TIME FOR THE SAME TO CREATE ALTERNATE HIGHLANDS AND
LOWLANDS. AND THIS WOULD RESULT IN GRADUAL EXPANSION OF
THE EXISTING WETLANDS. THIS PATCHES OF HIGHLANDS AND
LOWLANDS VARYING IN HEIGHT CAN BE EXPERIENCED BY THE
AMOUNT OF STORM AND FLOOD WATER. THE DEVELOPMENT OF A
WETLAND IS DIVIDED GENERALLY INTO A FORE-BAY , STORM-WATER
CHANNEL , MICRO POOLS , EMERGENCY SPILLWAY , TABLELANDS
( FLAT-TOP HIGHLANDS) , LOWLAND AREA.
